What to expect when visiting.

Planning a visit?

Visiting any place can be a nervous experience. At Lighthouse we want to put your nervousness at rest and provide you with a friendly, comfortable visit. We’re confident that your first visit to Lighthouse will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We want you to experience inspiring music, helpful teaching and preaching, friendly people, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home”! If you’re like most people, you may have questions as to what a service at Lighthouse might look like. So we took some time to answer them…

What are the services like?

Every service at Lighthouse Baptist Church is carefully planned so that you will have a great worship experience. Each service is filled with passionate worship and practical Bible teaching. As a guest, it is our honor to serve you. If there is anything you need, you can let a nearby host, or usher know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What type of church is Lighthouse?

We are an independent, fundamental Baptist church. For a better understanding of the spirit of our services, we would like to invite you to attend one of our services and experience Lighthouse first-hand. We also invite you to review our beliefs to gain a better understanding of our statement of faith.

I’m not a Baptist… Can I still attend?

It is our desire that Lighthouse would be a church for everyone that has a desire to know God. You do not have to come from a Baptist background, or hold to any particular religious affiliation to attend services here. We are convinced that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and it is sufficient to point any sincere person to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. If you have a desire to know God and experience His best in your life, we invite you to join us on the journey!

How are visitors recognized?

The last thing we want to do is single you out or put you on the spot. We ask visitors to fill out a Guest Information Card and simply drop it in the offering plate so that we can have a record of your visit. We'll never ask you to stand up or call you out in any way. We want you to have a wonderful experience at Lighthouse and we strive to create a friendly and comfortable environment to make you feel right at home.

What’s here for my kids?

Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for every age child from birth through high school! At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under. For children three years old through sixth grade, there are tailored worship services just for them including singing, classic Bible stories, and games. Each child is challenged at their level with the truth of scripture. These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child. For students in the seventh through the twelfth grade, there is a teen class with Bible truths taught in a fun and exciting environment. Most of the teens attend a class one hour and then the morning service with their parents.

How should I dress?

There is not a dress code at Lighthouse Baptist Church for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress — the men in a dress shirt and dress slacks, typically with a tie, and the women in modest dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable during your visit here at Lighthouse Baptist!

Am I expected to participate in the offering?

No. We don’t invite you to Lighthouse Baptist Church for your offering. We want our service to be a gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace. Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest.

What is the schedule for adults on Sunday morning?

Most adults attend one of several adult growth groups. These fellowships are smaller group settings where you can meet people, enjoy perhaps some coffee and donuts, and hear a teaching lesson more directly applicable to your life situation. The best way to get to know people at Lighthouse Baptist Church is to visit one of these adult growth groups.

After Sunday School, plan on attending our morning service where you will enjoy the beautiful and inspiring music of the choir; be uplifted through traditional congregational singing, followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible message from Pastor Ralstin. This service is a little over one hour in length.

You may want to arrive 15 minutes before service time to get situated and familiarize yourself with the church campus. You may also need to drop your children off at the Nursery Care or Kid's Church. Our ushers or greeters will be available to assist you in any way needed.

Are there services at other times?

Yes. We have a Sunday evening service (completely different from Sunday morning) that begins at 6:00 p.m. Again, in this service you’ll be challenged and helped by a message from Pastor Ralstin. We also meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. for a mid-week Prayer/Bible study. If you unable to be our guest on Sunday morning, we hope you’ll visit with us during any of our other service times.

If there’s something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Lighthouse Baptist will be uplifting and encouraging! We exist to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you’ll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto our property! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
