Our Pastor /

Randy Ralstin

Pastor Randy Ralstin has a tremendous passion for God’s Word coupled with a love for God’s people. Pastor Ralstin founded the Lighthouse Baptist Church on January 18, 1987, with the intent of raising up a “Beacon of Hope in a city of darkness.” ...a soul saving station shining forth the glorious light of the gospel in the midst of “Sin City” -Reno, NV.

Nevada at the time had one of the highest percentages of un-churched. Pastor Ralstin had a real burden to reach those “un-churched” people by starting a Bible-believing church where lives could be changed through God’s Word. Pastor Ralstin has seen the fulfillment of Ephesians 3:20, “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,” in his life of and ministry.

Beginning with a handful of people in attendance of the first service, Lighthouse Baptist Church now has many families that call it “home.” He has been the Senior Pastor for over 25 years and still has a fresh vision for helping others to know Christ. His vibrant and heart-filled preaching has been an encouragement to all who hear, and his compassion is evident in each of his sermons.

It has always been Pastor Ralstin’s desire since he was a young buy to make a career as a professional athlete playing professional baseball. After many years of practice and preparation under the guiding hand of his father’s instruction, this life-long dream would soon become a reality. The Atlanta Braves drafted him in 1986 and after a season of playing in the Braves’ Minor League System, Pastor Ralstin’s baseball career would come to an abrupt end; which in turn would give birth to the beginning of Lighthouse Baptist Church. It was an amazing orchestration how God divinely guided and directed the life of our Pastor. With the sole purpose of fulfilling God’s will for his life, Pastor was led in the founding of Lighthouse Baptist Church, to which he has been Pastor since its inception.

Pastor Ralstin has a very strong Christian heritage as he was saved on February 18, 1973 as a 9 year old boy. Both of his parents are godly Christians who understood the importance of raising their children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord.” It is because of Bro. & Mrs. Wharton Ralstin’s willingness to obey God’s principles concerning child rearing, that we have the Pastor that we have today. Pastor’s dad went to heaven several years ago and his mom is currently active and involved within the ministries of Lighthouse Baptist Church and continues to be a vital source of encouragement and inspiration to our Pastor.

Pastor Ralstin attended one year at Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida under the leadership of Dr. Bob Gray. Later, Pastor Ralstin would transfer to Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana under the leadership of Dr. Jack Hyles. It was while attending Hyles-Anderson College that Pastor Ralstin would meet his wife-to-be, Carla Bryant. She would become the mother of his three children; Rachelle, Nathanael and Larissa.

God has magnificently had His hand of blessing upon Pastor Ralstin and the Church in which he Pastors. Pastor Ralstin’s vision is uncompromisingly clear, with one principle: To reach people for the Lord and change lives by preaching and teaching God’s Word. Holding firmly to the great commission in Matthew 28:18-20, “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations.”
